日本の漢字は中国がルーツですが、私は中国語を聞いても全く理解できません。ただし街中の看板についてはある程度推測することができます。それでも想像が間違っていることも多々あります。

I know that Japanese characters' roots are Chinese, but when I hear the Chinese language totally I can't understand them. However, I think I can imagine what a sign says in a China city. Of cause sometimes it is wrong.
